You may have noticed that some sites seem to be more trusted than others in the same niche online. To get the picture clearer, consider a situation where majority of other sites in any given niche are linking back to a particular site. It simply means that there is something the site is doing that is better than what others are doing and this will begin to breed more trust for the site in the long run.

The fact is that most of the webmaster that have these well-trusted and authoritative sites are aware of the crowd their sites pulls and the importance of keeping things fresh and unique so as not to loose that trust and goodwill from their numerous visitors. It isn’t uncommon to notice that many of them would even be searching for ways of making their sites more popular or at least retaining the immense traffic they already have. So, it is necessary to say that getting one way backlinks from such site are quite difficult if not entirely impossible.

There are few sites that would be happy to get in the bad books of Google and other search engines so it is imperative that many webmaster would readily abide with the new search engines’ rule of trying not to link out to any site except on very just causes. This is effectively saying that link building is quite good but becomes better when ones’ site is the one that is being linked to but who will then be linking out in this type of scenario? This is where you should be able to wear your thinking cap and become as creative as you had never been in your entire internet marketing life because proper linking can be the livewire needed to boost the revenue base of your online business.

One intelligent way of getting very valuable backlinks from high ranking top blog or site in your niche is by studying what they are doing and giving some smart independent reviews on your page. You will then proceed to email the owner of such prominent site or blog intimating him or her of your review. It is natural for such person to want to link to such third party reviews so that his or her web or blog visitors would also read what others are saying about his or her services or products.

You can also begin to plan strategically towards your long term link building quest by devising ways of gathering trust from your niche. You don’t have to jump up and start shouting before you are noticed online but making very unique and quality content available is one potent way of announcing your presence online. This will not just lead many new web visitors to your site but you will begin to get backlinks from other related site owners that will want their visitor to also visit your valuable pages.

There is no substitute for proper link building if you want your blog or site to rank higher in the search engines’ result pages.

You can still achieve some success if you decide to self-promote your site or online business but one sure way of effectively doing that is through successful link building approaches. The term successful is very important here because there are some link building methods that had been overridden by the changes that were made in the search engines algorithms. One of the former link building approaches that has become antiquated is the link exchanging or link reciprocity. There is no arguing the fact that when you have more inbound links, you will be getting more traffic from those sites too but more vital benefit is that the search engines sees these kinds of inbound one way link as votes of confidence. What the search engines do is to simple rank the pages that get more inbound links higher in the search result pages because of the assumption that some quality contents are on such page.

The benefits of successful link building are quite huge because you would start getting more traffic and your site’s reputation in the niche will also be on the increase. But there are some useful tips you must inculcate in your link building approaches so as to keep getting the best results such as higher page ranking and more traffic than your competitors.

1. Determine to always provide quality content on your webpages so that others will naturally be happy to link up with your site even without being prompted.

2. Take advantage of the numerous blogs or forums in your niche and select some top ranking ones you r would join today. The need to join blogs like this transcends link building because you can even start getting instant direct traffic from such blogs if your posts are authoritative and informative.

3. Tactically adding the link to your site or blog in the comments and chats your exchange at the various social networking site is also very essential. You have to do this on consistent basis but make sure that you do not appear pushy and aggressive but give your audience some values and recommend your site of some blog posts from time to time. You will begin to get direct traffic as well as the very important one way back links.

4. Try as much as possible to stay away from blogs that aren’t related to the subject of your site or blog. You may visit such blogs for leisure or other reasons but if successful link building is your goal, you have to go for blogs or forums that are within your niche.

5. There isn’t any successful link building that can ignore the enormous positive impact of article marketing. Writing and submitting articles to articles directories plays some vital role in providing the needed one way back links to your site. This is even more result-oriented when you do it on consistent basis because some of the articles directories already rank high in the search engines’ result pages so it will be easier for your site to get to the top when there are many links pointing from such higher ranked directories.

Have you run across the term SEO? You probably have if you’ve ever made a website. One of the most common mistakes people trying to make money on the internet make is not doing the SEO correctly. How can you do it correctly if you don’t know what it is? This article will define and give you tips on optimizing for the search engines so you can get the most out of your efforts.

SEO is short for search engine optimization. What it means is you simply optimize your website or blog so the search engines know what your site is about. The reason this is important is quite simple- if the search engines know what your site is about, then they will rank your site in comparison to other sites about the same topic. If your website is properly optimized, then you will get traffic for free from the engines. On the same hand, if it is not properly done, you may never show up in the search results, so your website will never get visited.

What are search engines? They are the places people go to when they want to look something up on the internet. For example, Google is the biggest search engine, Yahoo is huge, Ask…there are virtually thousands of search engines, it really depends on your preference as to which one you use.

So how do you optimize your website for the search engines? When deciding what your website will be about, you should be doing some keyword research to determine what keywords you will be targeting. A keyword is what people search for. For example, if someone wanted to know how to breed dogs, the keyword would be “how to breed dogs” or they may type in “is breeding dogs hard” or something to that nature. When picking keywords, make sure you think about what your readers will be searching for, and optimize for those keywords. The biggest mistake people make is not choosing a proper domain name. A domain name has a huge weight on your websites ranking, because this is seen as one of your keywords. If you have a website about breeding dogs, you wouldn’t want your domain name to be “My Dog Breeding Experience .com” (because chances are, no one will ever search for that phrase.) You would want to pick a domain name that people are searching for, and relates to what your website is about.

The next step after picking your domain name, is choosing your title for the page. This is seen as another place you can optimize for your keywords. Same rules apply for the title as the domain. Use keywords people are searching for. Do not use a title such as “My Personal Experience With German Shepherd’s”…instead, use a title like “How To Breed German Shepherds”.

The next part is the body of the page. Make sure you use your keywords in your article 2-3 times, but do not do it anymore than that. (This rule is not exact- it really depends on the amount of content you have on your page. A good rule of thumb is not to exceed 6-7% keyword density per page. Keyword density is the amount of times your keyword appears on your page as opposed to the amount of words. If you use your keywords too many times on your page, Google (or other’s) may see it as keyword stuffing (which is essentially over optimizing) and that is a bad thing. You will not get ranked, so there for you will not get traffic to your site.

The next and final step is to make sure that your description is accurate, but also contains your keywords. Remember when you’re writing your description, you want people to know what your site is about, but you also want them to visit your site. When writing your description, this is what the search engines will show in the results- it must be reader friendly (so DON’T just list keywords- it needs to make sense to the readers, and it needs to portray an accurate description of what your page or site is about.)

Search engine optimization is truly an art, but it is not an art that is not learned. These basic steps will get you started in the world of SEO. There is much to learn about it, but this is a great beginning!

The buzz word these days online and trembling throughout both large and small organizations is the term “SEO”. But what the heck is it and why should you care? S.E.O. stands for Search Engine Optimization, a process of improving your website’s SERP (Search Engine Results Page) rating. Since most searchers tend to focus on the first page of their search term, it is important that your website lands there.

You can create the most beautiful, fast loading, compressed, keyword-based website known to man….but if you don’t update your site for a year, your website may start out on ranking high on the SERP, but sink down in the ratings by the end of the year. Why? Did you know that Google and other search engines have little spiders they send out to scour the internet for new material. These spiders visit your site at least once every 15 days, looking for new content. If you don’t update your site, the spiders move on. Eventually the spiders get used to reporting back nothing, which tells the search engines you are not very relevant after a certain amount of time. So, now the investment you made into your fancy website is wasted. If you want to get FOUND, the easiest way to do it, is to update content regularly with a blog. A little effort goes a long way.

Relevance doesn’t end with CONTENT. Another great way to prove to the search engine spiders that you are still relevant is to have other important sites linking to your site (Inbound Links). Are you a member of a local charity group, a chamber, trade association that gets a lot of online visitors? Ask them to include a link to your website and return the favor to them. WARNING: Be careful how you swap links…. Do it the ethical way, with organizations, blogs, and other websites that are pertinent to you. Don’t try to fool the search engines…..they will ban you if you are not ethical (which defeats the purpose).

How do you do improve your SEO? There are plenty of companies that will assist you for a fee or plenty of online information for you to attempt yourself. In my quest to become more literate in the SEO world, I have put together a compilation of “Greatest Hits’ for you:

1. Since Google is the Gold Standard, I thought it would be smart to go straight to the source: Google’s SEOPage.

2. Check out how your website currently fares in getting you found on the search engines… HubSpot has a Great tool in its “Website Grader”.

3. A great article on Link-Building: 101 Ways to Build Link Popularity

4. Know Your Code: SEOMoz has a great “cheat sheet” with basic SEO coding on it.

5. FREE SEO Tools: There are several, but SEOMoz has many for free. Also, check out SEOTools.

I also recommend searching for a few good twitter feeds that can keep you up to date as SEO practices are always changing and improving.

Many webmasters find it a bit hard to figure out appropriate ways of getting off-site optimization. The truth is that there is need for the sites to have external links that will be coming from other people’s websites and blogs. Some people find it hard to get these valuable one way backlinks. You can take advantage of the blog posting service for your rapid link building requirements.

You can get as many as hundred back links from blog posting service in a day even though you are advised to go slowly at the beginning in or order not to look like spam. These backlinks are going to really push up the ranking of your site or blog in a very short time but they have to keep to your beat and continue to get more and more inbound links for better page ranking of your blog or site. You can kick-start your site’s rapid link building through blog posting service but there are some factors that should be given prior considerations.

A. Critically Look At The Blog Network

The fact that you are searching for related blogs to link back from doesn’t mean that you will start aligning with all manners of craps online. You should be careful with the type of companies you keep online so that your blog’s or site’s credibility will remain intact. Have a look at the blog you are going in for and know if they really deserve your attention and efforts. If not, you can always find better performing blogs to align with, just search for them.

B. Make Proper Use Of Your Target Keywords

You need to be using the keywords you are targeting in your site or blog in most of the titles of the posts you make in some other related blogs so that such posts will rank higher in the search engine pages. This will translate to more visibility to your link as well and as such is regarded as one of the vital rapid link building approaches.

C. Make Use Of Proper Anchor Texts In Your Links

Note that you may be derailing your rapid link building efforts if all you write where you put in your link is, ‘CLICK HERE’. Instead of using this kind of phrase, it is better that you use your targeted keywords in the anchor text for more optimization of your links.

D. Visit Targeted Blogs

One thing that the blog posting service will do for you is that they would only be posting your comments and linking back from relevant blogs. These relevant blogs are those that are in the same niche with you and the traffic you will be getting from there are ones that will be more targeted and responsive.

E. Check The Page Rank Of The Blog

You are advised to check the page ranking of the blogs before you want to link back from. This is important because your rapid link building quest will be more productive if you get many valuable one way backlinks from blogs that are ranked higher in the various top search engines.

We initially embarking on a link building campaign for your website, there were several items you must take into consideration to attract the highest ranking links to your content. The main item to take into consideration is writing for the search engine spiders and usability.

If you do not write your website content for the search engines, you will be missing out on attracting the best possible links. This will also help your target market audience to find your information in the search engines and provide a better experience for users. I will highlight a few of the more popular tools and techniques for developing Link popularity so you will begin to see the content your writing in the same manner as spiders to.

Search engine spiders do not look at your content or website the same and you warn your users do. They only see the text and code on the published page. If you using WordPress blog and click on the home button instead of looking at the text, you’ll begin to see what looks like indecipherable images if you do not know what you are looking. If you are not a coding expert there are some tools you can use to ensure that your code is search engine optimized for best link popularity.

1. One tool you can use is a web browser like Lynx because it only displays text. This type of browser checks out the usability of websites on older browsers to make sure your code is working properly and not broken. These are very fast tools to use because they only look at code and do not show frames, images, tables or videos.

2. A second method you can use to boost your link popularity campaign practices is to list your links within your content the proper way. By this I mean that text and links within the body of your content are given higher rankings and priority then links would show up elsewhere on your website such as on sidebars, headers and footers. So using proper content development techniques and methods will become very valuable to your link building efforts.

3. A third method to use is to ensure your pages are properly indexed. Make sure that your page size is under 100KB in size. Some of the search engines and online databases will not rank your pages if they are over a certain size. For this you need to make sure that your page size is not over the smallest maximum amount on any one of the major search engines. You need to also make sure that you have proper header tags and content at the top of your page and anything you wish not to have indexed is not show.

Are these steps too much for you to put into action? If your answer is yes, you possibly will do yourself and your website a disservice in not achieve the page ranking you are looking for. However, if your answer is no, yes these may take a little longer to put into action but in the long run you’ll get used to writing content in the proper manner and develop your page content properly.

By using the above methods, techniques and tools, over time your website will achieve an edge over your competitors and it may be just what you need to push your site from page two to page one on a Google search.

If you are out to attract prospective customers and develop your online presence and exposure, you owe it to yourself and the financial future of your business to learn everything you can about Internet marketing.

If you have found this article you are most likely aware that effective link building is the most important statistic search engines compare when ranking web sites. Search engines rank sites on importance, and how better to show importance than willfully being referred by other websites in the form of a link? Keep in mind that incoming links are the most important factor when ranking websites but not the only factor! Use the following link building strategies to ensure your website effectively receives sustainable traffic:

Article Writing and Submission

Writing articles is our number one recommendation when building one way, incoming links. By writing an article related to your website’s content and placing your link on it, you are not only building incoming links but also getting the attention of your targeted audience that are reading your articles. There are thousands of article distribution services as well publishers that feed on quality content and want nothing more to place your article and link on their site. Since the information in the articles can be redistributed, your article and link will be redistributed for years to come. For best exposure we recommend finding a reasonably priced submission service or program to take care of most of the leg work!

Forum, Blog, and Profiles

Do you participate in any online communities? Most allow or even force you place a profile or signature. Many of these also allow you to insert a link to a website of your choice. This link also serves multiple purposes. Search engines recognize this link as a one way link and you also will get curious visitors from the site the link was initially posted. Now be careful with this! You need to follow the rules of the website your link is being posted at. If it is against the website’s policies to post your link it is illegal for you to do so and can cause serious issues with your website and business if escalated.

Reciprocal Link Exchange

When related websites exchange links it is called reciprocal linking. Although not as beneficial as one way linking, this is a common and free way to obtain more links from related websites and is mutually beneficial to both websites. Webmasters should always keep in mind that linking to a website that is banned or being penalized by search engines may have a negative effect on their own website. For this reason, if linking to other websites, please monitor your link partners to ensure you are not a victim of these penalties.

Quality Content

Google’s number one recommendation for improving your position in their search engine is quality content. A common reason why websites fail in the marketing world is because their websites do nothing more then sell products. People as well as search engines don’t want anything to do with these websites. Information gathered by researching the topic and related topics will pull links and traffic, then you are able to offer them your products and services.

Content Related Tools

This topic may not be possible based on your website subject. People often search on automated tools to assist them in saving time and providing them with the answers they need and webmasters love to provide their visitors with links to sites that allow this. This will indirectly pull traffic to a website and keep them coming back often. For example, this article is about link building right? What do you need to keep track of your link building progress? There is a very easy tool to use called a “Link Popularity Check.” This tool allows you to monitor how many websites links search engines see linking to your website. Placing this tool on our website will keep you coming back often to check your link building progress and also lure you into trying other tools and possibly purchasing services from us.

Paid Advertising

Just like anything else in life, you can buy yourself through link building. Everything listed above can be completed or created for you but there is often a hefty price that comes along with an experienced. If you choose to pay someone to do the leg work for you, you are placing the reputation of your business in their hands. If they decide to take a short cut and spam your link, you will face the consequences.

Now you have the knowledge you need to make your website an internet success! Be patient, as link building takes time. With effort comes progress!

Link popularity is, somewhat obvious, a loose term to describe the number of links pointing to your website, as well as the importance of those links. In a way, this is circular – as you get higher link popularity, your outbound links gain power making the websites you link to rise in link popularity making their links gain power. On and on it goes.

A common way of describing your link popularity is by the use of (google) Pagerank. While this is not completely accurate, for the purpose of most hobby SEO:ists, it is close enough.

To gain link popularity you need to get more links pointing to your website, the more the merrier. Not all links are of equal value, links on important pages and/or on trusted websites are far more valuable than links from link pages used solely for link exchanging.

The time it takes to get the link should always be proportional to the quality; great links aren’t easy to come by, but if you can find them it will be well worth your while.

Gaining more links pointing to your website can be accomplished in many ways, some better than others. A few easy ways of attracting inbound links are;

Writing articles

Writing and submitting articles to various article directories will help you gain very high SE rankings on the targeted words. Be sure to target clever keywords within the anchor text(s) and you will see some great results.

Exchanging links with other websites

Reciprocal linking, where two sites link to each other, can be highly beneficial for link popularity and SE rankings. Relevant link exchanges will always work far better than linking to anyone and anything.

Actively blogging

Make a blog in your niche, try to update is as often as possible. Read and comment on other blogs in your niche, but do not spam. Link to your own posts only if they are relevant and on topic.

Using social bookmarks

Make use of the various – and ever so popular – social bookmark services easily found all around. Use their buttons on your blogs and pages, and see to it you actively take part in at least one of the most popular ones.

Submitting your site to various web directories

An easy way of gaining one-way links is to submit your websites to web directories. Many of them offer free one-way links of medium quality. The problem with directories is the similarity of them, as well as the lack of content. Websites consisting only of links are rarely treated well in SE’s, its only logical the outbound links are treated similarly.

There are plenty of more ways of gaining links and link popularity, but the above methods are fast, cheap (or free) and available for everyone.

No matter what method(s) you are using, altering your anchor text will be crucial for your success. Be imaginative; try to make the links look generic and not like YOU have added them all. Its no secret google and other SE’s are constantly tweaking their algorithms to take SEO into account. No need to be obvious.

What is Link Juice?

Some call it Link Juice, others call it Link Love but it is just a fun way of referring to the SEO benefits of linking two web pages together. Whether the links are within the same domain or from external sources, there are always benefits from an SEO standpoint when you create a link to anything.

It is sometimes tougher to get off-page links, or links on other websites, so it is to your utmost advantage to do everything you can within your own website to boost the power of your keywords. Internal linking is one way to do this. Because you control what is on your webpages, you control the amount of on-page SEO you do. To neglect this important aspect of SEO may mean that you do not rank as highly in the Search engines for your keywords as you would like.

How to Use Internal Links To The Best Advantage

To get the most SEO punch from your internal links you should use anchor text links within the context of your blog or website content any time your keyword is used. Let’s use gardening as an example. You have a gardening website and you have a product about container gardening that will make you money when anyone purchases it. Naturally, you would want to rank higher for the keyword “container gardening” since that is the product that will put money in your bank.

You want the search engines to recognize that the container gardening offer page is the most important page on your website. So you write a series of 20 articles about gardening and within those articles, you place an anchor text link to the money page every time you use the word container gardening within those articles. The search engine will then pick up the fact that there are 20 links within your site all leading to that page and will know that it is the most important page of your website and rank your website higher in the SERP for that keyword.

Choose one or two keywords that you want to rank highly for and use the internal links to tell the search engines what you want and they will respond. The biggest mistake a marketer can make is not guiding the search engines where YOU want them to go.

Building link popularity doesn’t exactly mean that you must link to as many webpages as you can. Building as many backlinks as you may be viewed as link spamming and it can get you penalized. But when you are building link popularity, you need to really pay attention to the quality and relevancy of the backlinks that you are gaining. Discussed here, are 6 powerful steps that will help you increase your website’s link popularity.

1. The first step to building link popularity involves submitting articles to the various article directories online. Most article directories allow you to place a link to your website from the resource box. If you write decent, high quality articles, other webmasters will snatch up your articles and place it on their website as well, thus improving your link popularity even the more. So not only can you get backlinks from the article directories themselves, but you can also get them from the various sites that post your article.

2. The second step to building link popularity involves posting blog comments. Just do a search on Google and try to locate the various blogs in your niche that allow you to submit a comment. You must make sure the comment is interesting and useful. Also, don’t forget to include your url in the comment.

3. Join forums in order to build link popularity. Search for forums that are related to your target market and add a link to your website within the signature file. In order to increase traffic to your site, you must participate in the discussion. You can offer your opinion or you can start your own thread by posting an article.

4. When building link popularity, you can also syndicate your website. If you have a blog, then you need to make sure that your blog also provides its own XML or RSS feed. When readers enjoy your content and find value in it, they will include your rss feed on their website for others to see. Aside from one way backlinks, it also means an increase in web traffic as well.

5. A good strategy for building link popularity involves building your blogroll. Look for well-established blogs and request if they can include your blog within their blogroll. If the blog gets a lot of traffic, you can benefit from their link popularity and traffic. But when participating in a blogroll, the good thing for you to do is to return the favor by placing the blog owner’s link within your blogroll.
